Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden
It used to be Enoshima Botanical Garden, but was remodeled with the Observation Lighthouse.
It was rearranged according to the new theme "International Exchange" which is connected to Mr. Cocking, who built a garden here in the Meiji period.
There are ruins of the Meiji period and areas introducing sister & friendship cities of Fujisawa.
The remains of his greenhouse, which is the largest in Japan, is preserved.

Kodama-jinja (Shrine)Gentaro Kodama(1852-1906) who was the Viceroy of Taiwan and steered Japan to victory in the Russo-Japanese War has been enshrined for the victory since this shrine was established (1921.)
This building was built with Hinoki (cypress) presented by Taiwan.
The TORII gate and KOMAINU (stone statues of guardian dogs) were made with stone from Taiwan as well.
It was designed by Dr. Chuta Ito who was the leading architect of shrines and temples.
In the grounds, there is a stone monument with a poem inscribed by Aritomo Yamagata (soldier, politician) and a stone from Nirei Mt. (a hard-fought field in China).
Shinpei Goto worked for Gentaro Kodama in Taiwan as a civil administrator.

Shonan Port (Enoshima Yacht Harbor)The yacht races of the 18th Summer Olympic games (in Tokyo) were held here.
In this harbor, there are about 1000 yachts.

Enoshima Iwaya CavesThe Iwaya Cave, eroded by the longtime waves, is composed of two caverns.
In the cave the Japanese print, Ukiyoe, of Enoshima and the objet d'art of the dragon in the cave's legend among others, are displayed with unearthly music and light.

Ryuren-no-kane (Bell of dragon's love)This bell was built in 1996 in honor of the legend of a heavenly maiden and a dragon with five heads.
You can find the names of the couples (and their anniversary) who sympathized with the project, carving them to pray for their eternal love.

Enoshima-daishi (Temple)There were a couple of temples in Enoshima before the Meiji period, but all were destroyed by the government as part of the policy against religion.
This temple was rebuilt in 1993 by the Koya-san Shingon sect.
In the HONDO (main building) a 6 meters tall AKA-FUDO-SON is standing.
